Golden shores lap crystal clear waters, while ancient ruins hum tales of days gone by.
I was thrilled to see the Temple of Apollo. I was looking down at the harbor, and I could almost see that busy market scene in my minds eye. The Roman theater was amazing to look around.
The museum, on the other hand, was a goldmine of relics. But Side is more than just a history lesson. It is an all round beach paradise Colakli beach where I sat in the sun for hours.

It is the perfect place for people who just want some coolness and a bit of adventure with a touch of culture.
The sun-kissed paradise beaches were obviously the main attraction so I loved all the beaches that featured on my trip. The wonderful sight of getting lost in the warm, soft sand and clear water beneath my toes.
I’ve tried almost all the water sports, preferring to hang out at Colakli Beach because there’s always something going on. On the other hand, I paddled a kayak in search of hidden coves and lost myself in the sound of my paddle hitting the water, followed by the chirping of scattered birds every few seconds.
Journey through time: I’m a bit of a history buff and this place blew my mind! The panoramic view of the harbor from The Temple of Apollo reminded me how far back in history I was walking. The nearby Side Museum was my walk through history with its collection of artefacts such as sculptures and mosaics.
The Roman theater was a sight to behold and both gladiatorial battles and epic performances magically came alive on that stage in front of me.
