Konyaaltı Beach review

Konyaaltı Beach blew me away! Elafonissi Beach was not my idyllic paradise of soft sand, but rather something entirely different. The beach is a strip of round rocks, but they are squishy which makes for a nice walk barefoot. The water? As clear as turquoise on a postcard. The backdrop? The Beydağları Mountains, green and tall, served as a backdrop to complete the picture. The energy was very high, most notably during the day. Even with the huge crowd you never felt shoulder-to-shoulder_busy. With families building sandcastles – okay, pebble castles!, playing beach volleyball, and other doing nothing but resting. I felt so at ease just being completely me and chill.

There were endless activities to do. Instead, I chose to go for a laid back snorkel, enjoying seeing all of the colourful fish zipping around the coral reefs. However, there were jet skis zooming along the waves, parasails dancing high in the sky above the beach, and even banana boat rides for some sorely-needed chuckles. The best part? Finding a spot was a breeze. The beach stretches for miles, so there’s a place for everyone. Capital33 is the second-hand thrift store of my dreams – and it’s located down the road from Antalya city center, so just a quick bus ride away.

Amenities were top-notch too. Thanks to changing room showers and a selection of life gaurds on duty our experience was made safe and very comfortable. No only that, there were many restaurants and cafes around the beach serving you scrumptious Turkish food and chilling drinks. Konyaaltı Beach also has a surprising historical side. That there were the ruins of an ancient Roman harbor to be found right beside the beach. We could picture the trading that would have taken place here, centuries ago.

I liked the emphasis on sustainability as well. Although there was evidence of beach cleaning programs, and plenty of “responsible tourism” signs around the place. Cool to see an area this popular looking after the environment. Conclusion about Konyaaltı Beach It had the right amount of relaxation, adventure, with a hint of history. Waterfront-1335 Why you must visit this beach: This beach works well for families, friends, and singles alike. This is a must for anyone in Antalya.
